Het Italiaanse progressive death metal ensemble Sadist ontstond in 1991. Na vier full-albums hield men het in 2001 voor bekeken. Maar het bleef kriebelen bij Tommy Talamanca (gitaar, keyboards) en Trevor Nadir (vocals) en in 2005 werd Sadist terug opgestart met ook nog Andy Marchini (bass) en Alessio Spallarossa (drums).
