*When did you really get involved into music in general and into metal specific? Who was responsable for your interest in (metal) music?
I found metal in the late 90’s, but I’ve started with Black Sabbath and Queen in the early 90’s. My mom had Sabbath vinyls at our home, and I liked it as a child.
*Which artists or bands did influence you the most?
I have to say Black Sabbath, but main influences come from classical music as Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, Debusy and many more.
*Which instrument do you play and how and when did you learn to play? Did you had lessons in school or private lessons? If so, was that because your parents expected that from you? Or did you learn to play the instruments by yourself? Do yo still follow some lessons?
I mainly play the piano, but also drums and a little bit guitar as well. I started taking piano lessons when I was about 11 years old, but I began with drum lessons when I was 7 years old. My mom never expected me to play, but encouraged me of course. I would like to take some lessons now, but I really can’t find the time right now.
*Do you listen to or are you intrested in other styles of music beside rock / metal? If so, what is the kind of music you prefer to listen to?
I like Finnish rock/ pop, one band in peticular. But I mostly listen to metal, and classical music.
*Is music a full time job for you now or do you have a job beside music? If so, what kind of job are you doing? If you would be really succesful with music, would you quit your other job?
I work as a full time carpenter/ cabinet builder. I have my own workshop/ business. I mostly build tables and chairs for private customers across Finland. I’ve been thinking of expanding to other countries as well. If I could, I would quit my job in a heart beat to become a full time composer/ musician.
*If you could start a complete new band (something like an all star band) with other musicians on other instruments, which artists would you pick for wich instrument and why? Would you still go for a symphonic death metal / doom band?
I love symphonic music, so I think I would go with a symphonic metal band. I would choose Hellhammer for drums, Nergal for vocals, Veronica Bordacchini for female vocals, Nolly Getgood for bass, Devin Townsend for guitar, and I would take care of writing and keyboards 🙂
*If you had been banned to an uninhabited island and you may pick 5 albums to listen to, wich albums would you choose and why?
Periphery- ‘Hail Stan’, Katatonia- ‘The Great Cold Distance’, Happoradio- ‘Jälkiä 2001-2011’, Behemoth- ‘The Satanist’, Type O Negative- ‘Bloody Kisses’.
*Every new album of a band or an artist is the best one, so they say. So here is a chance to promote your album. Why should a music lover buy your album? What are the standout tracks for you on this new album and why?
If you love melodic, symphonic, death metal, doom metal, movie soundtracks, you WILL love ‘Decade Of Silence’! It has something for every metal lover! I think all the tracks stand out in their own way, cause the album is not depending on one genre, but it holds a hybrid mix of movie soundtrack-like music to death metal and blast beats. I hope, and I know you will love the album. We’ve put loads of time and effort to it, and we love it.

*Is there a chance that you will promote these songs through live concerts? If so, would you prefer small clubs or big festivals? And is there a chance we can see DEPRESSED MODE in Belgium?
Playing live would be a little frightening, cause we haven’t played live in over a decade, but it’s something we look forward to! I think both festivals and clubs have their sides, so it’s hard to say! I really do hope you can see us in Belgium, so if there’s anyone booking gigs in Belgium, hit us up and lets set something up!
Thanks for your support, means worlds to us!
