Since its foundation in 2016, the Copenhagen, Denmark based festival A Colossal Weekend has been an artistic platform for genre-crossing, heavy, and experimental music. In 2026, the festival will celebrate its 10th year anniversary, which will take place from 7th-9th May, as always at the venues VEGA and Basement in Copenhagen.
Over the past months, roughly half of next year’s artists have been announced, including the headliners Cult Of Luna and Russian Circles, and today the festival can add a further eight exciting names from home and abroad. In addition, the festival now reveals preliminary daily programs, just as single-day and Selected tickets are now also on sale.

The Glasgow-based supergroup Omo, consisting of members from, among others, Mogwai and The Twilight Sad, are ready with their sludgy, doomy soundscapes, while the American singer/songwriter A.A. Williams envelops us in a folk-based, dark, and progressive rock music. From Germany, we will receive visits from Zahn and their noisy, droning, and dystopian rock music, and the Berlin-based Roomer, who fuse noisy guitars, melodic sensibility, and folky elements into an organic, vivid whole.
In addition, the festival will be visited by the Austrian Ellevere, who create all-encompassing music with equal parts of post, black, and doom metal, while the French Slift create psychedelic rock of the highest class. Lastly, the unique shoegazers Slow Crush from Belgium are announced, and not least the Copenhagen-based, album-current Town Portal, who have built an international name with their instrumental, catchy math rock.

Founded in 2016, A Colossal Weekend is Copenhagen’s festival for the experimental and progressive edges of intense music. It offers more than concerts – it creates immersive experiences where sound, identity, and presence converge.
The festival champions diversity as a foundation for artistic quality, featuring a strong presence of female, non-binary, and queer artists. Music and exploration are intertwined with existential and, at times, activistic themes – from furious punk to ritualistic ambient and poetic doom.
With its intimate scale and inclusive ethos, A Colossal Weekend is a space where audiences and artists meet safely, openly, and curiously. Around 30 % of visitors come from abroad, reflecting the festival’s growing international profile.
A Colossal Weekend 2025 was the most attended festival in its history, featuring unforgettable performances from bands such as Chat Pile, Oranssi Pazuzu, Elder, Kylesa, Pallbearer, Zola Jesus, and Kellermensch. Over the years, The Festival has also hosted artists such As Yob, Boris, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Cult Of Luna, Anna Von Hausswolff, Deafheaven, and Liturgy.
A Colossal Weekend is a non-profit, independent festival organized by VEGA in collaboration with a number of local partners.
